Juanita Uribe

Juanita has dedicated her professional life to finding ways to understand the world and communicate complex things in a way that most people can understand. She started working with children — the wisest people she knows — and then realized that to preserve their innate wisdom she must also work with adults. Focused on the needs and rights of children and sustainability, she has worked for media, governments, international organizations and NGOs. She has designed and implemented public-private partnerships and programs in citizen, childhood and youth education and sustainable development for governments, the private sector and foundations in Colombia, Spain, México and Central America; and for organizations such as the Organization of American States, the Trust for The Americas, ANDI Agency in Brazil, Design For Change, Central America Leadership Initiative, Innovation Media Consulting Group and Grupo Intereconomía. Currently, Juanita is the representative of Cognitive Edge in Spanish-speaking Latin America, where she runs research and social innovation projects, based on complexity theory and neuroscience. She is a founding member of Imaginario, a foundation created by a group of Colombians to promote social change through culture and quality media. She has a degree in Strategic Communications from Universidad Javeriana in Colombia, and lives in Washington, DC.
